Veteran Volunteer Transportation Program
The Veteran Volunteer Transportation Program is a unique partnership between the County Veterans Services Office, County of Door Transportation Department, and Door-Tran to provide free rides to eligible Door County veterans who need to travel to US Department of Veterans Affair (VA) clinics across Wisconsin and other specialty clinics for choice medical appointments. To get started, complete a Veteran Rider Registration or contact Door-Tran.
County-Wide Volunteer Transportation Program
The Volunteer Transportation Program’s goal is to meet transportation needs that are not best met using the Half-Price Travel Voucher Program, Door 2 Door Rides, or Door County Connect. Transportation is provided by volunteer drivers who will transport with personal, non-wheelchair accessible vehicles. Transportation extends to Door, Kewaunee, and Brown Counties. It may also be available to medical appointments outside of these counties. Riders are charged a fare based on miles traveled and sliding fees based on household income levels. To get started, complete a County-Wide Rider Registration or contact Door-Tran.
