To get started, please complete the Volunteer Driver Application and return it to Door-Tran. Requirements for both programs
- Complete an application
- Must be 21 years or older and have 2-Years driving experience
- Good driving record
- Valid driver’s license
- Personal Auto insurance required
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Complete Orientation
County-Wide Volunteer Transportation Program Information & Benefits
- Provide rides with personal vehicle
- $0.50 Mileage reimbursement, both loaded and unloaded
- Monthly cellphone reimbursement, when applicable
- Meal reimbursement, when applicable
- Primary travel between Door, Kewaunee, and Brown Counties
- Excess Liability Coverage Insurance Coverage
- Flexible schedule – choose when YOU want to drive
- Monday-Friday 6:30 am – 5:00 pm
- Ride scheduling provided by Door-Tran staff
- Training provided
- Annual picnic and winter celebrations
Veteran Volunteer Transportation Program Information & Benefits
Rides provided to Door County veterans who need to travel to Veterans Affair (VA) clinics in Green Bay, Appleton, Cleveland, Milwaukee and other specialty clinics for medical appointments. Occasionally, wheelchair services are needed.
- Provide rides in a County of Door owned vehicle
- Eligible for meal reimbursements, when applicable.
- Minimum insurance required
- Flexible schedule – choose when YOU want to drive
- Ride scheduling provided by Door-Tran staff
- Training provided
- Annual picnic and winter celebrations
